Simon Boyar Drum School & Shop is opening its doors to musicians of every kind for Rock Band — a hosted jam session series for students in grades 6 through 12. Whether you play drums, guitar, bass, keys, vocals, horns, or something we haven't thought of yet, this is your chance to step out of the practice room and into a real band. No audition, no pressure — just a room full of players figuring out songs together, building chemistry, and having fun making music as a group.

JAM SESSION FAQ
What is Rock Band?
Rock Band is our faculty-coached jam session — a chance for students to play together in a live band setting, guided by our instructors, in a low-pressure environment built for learning and having fun.
Who can join?
Students in grades 6–12. All instruments are welcome — guitar, bass, drums, keys, vocals, and beyond. If you play it, there's a place for it in the band.
Do I need experience or an audition to join?
No audition, and no minimum experience level. Whether you've been playing for years or just started lessons, you're welcome to jump in.
How much does it cost?
Free for currently enrolled students. $25 per session for everyone else, either reserve your spot at the link above or pay at the door.
How long is each session, and how often do you run them?
Sessions run 60–90 minutes, held once or twice a month. Upcoming dates: October 3rd, and October 24th at 12pm
Do I need to be an enrolled student at the school to join?
No — Jam Session is open to the community. It's free for enrolled students and $25 per session for everyone else.
What should I bring?
Just your instrument (or nothing, if you play drums or sing) — we provide the backline gear: drum kit, amps, and PA.
